About Us

Mission & Vision

Song In Motion, founded in 2025, is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to show creative expression through art. We are not limited or confined to one singular motif, but rather we celebrate all of ourselves and one another as a whole collective. Aiming to provide resources to underserved populations within the San Diego region and giving opportunities for artists to exercise their creative expression in a supportive and welcoming environment. Song in Motion aims to push the boundaries of cross discipline collaboration in addition to curating community gatherings and events.

About The Founder

Wen Song (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist who discovered her passion for the arts at an early age. She is a dance graduate of the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts where she received a pre-conservatory level training. Her artistic journey extends beyond dance, as she is also experienced in acting, voice, and visual arts, giving her a well-rounded approach to her artistic expression. She has worked professionally as a performer, choreographer, and costumer in San Diego for companies including, San Diego Dance Theater, Malashock Dance, Opera A La Carte SD, Monica Bill Barnes, the Asian American Dance Festival, and more. What she loves more than her work as a professional artist, is the difference she gets to make as a passionate educator, cultivating a nurturing and dynamic classroom environment where every student can be themselves and exercise their creativity. Her pedagogical training through AXIS Dance, Expressive Arts Institute, and studies in Child Development at San Diego Miramar College, enables her to create a curriculum which supports each students’ social-emotional development in conjunction with the numerous topics she teaches. She aims to support the next generation of artists as they grow their love for the arts. Her upbringing in FuShun, China has deeply rooted her belief in the power of community. Through Song In Motion, she hopes to bring together individuals from all walks of life to celebrate the profound impact art can have on us. Wen is constantly seeking out opportunities to engage with the art community. You can often find her taking classes, teaching, and attending performances all throughout San Diego.
